The Bar Method: Why I do it and why you should join me! [Offer Code Inside!]

As some of you may know, I have been taking classes at the Bar Method for a year now and I ABS-solutely love it!

A little bit about The Bar Method:

The Bar Method is a one-hour, non-impact total body workout set to fun music. It starts with a warm-up, free weight exercises and push-ups and then moves to intense isometric leg work at the bar, followed by abdominal work at the bar and on mats. The workout was developed under the guidance of physical therapists to create a workout that reshapes your entire body. It’s intense and challenging but the ultimate result is core strength, lifted mood, increased metabolism, carved muscles, and flexibility!

Why I LOVE it

If you knew me a year ago, you’d see me as a person who had not worked out in forever – I used to do yoga frequently as my “workout” of choice (aka, stress reducing and stretching) but then I experienced a lower back injury, a lovely herniated disc which put me out of commission for EVERYTHING except for physio and massage for 6 plus months. Even after I was recovering from my back injury, I couldn’t do yoga. In fact, I re-injured myself from yoga. I kept hearing over and over “you need to build up your core, work your core”.

I found The Bar Method through their Instagram. They had a contest to win a free month of barre. I entered and WON a month pass for a me and a friend.

Which now brings me to today! My friend and I now go to The Bar Method 3-6 times a week. I have found that for myself, this was the best workout to 1. Rebuild my core strength 2. Build up my muscle strength, 3. Increase my flexibility and 4. NOT RE-INJURE MYSELF! My sleeps are better, my stress is lower and I find I come to class smiling before during and after. I absolutely love the corrections they give – I want to make sure I’m doing the exercise right first so I don’t injure myself. They also push me to exceed my expectations in just right way!

Why YOU should do it

For all the benefits you get above and more!

I have been given the opportunity to offer my friends and family an exclusive introductory deal on classes. My exclusive promotion code will get you 50 days of unlimited classes for $50+tax! This package is only for New Members or members who have not bought a package in more than a year. Here is the link to the deal:

THE SOUND OF MUSIC features music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse, suggested by The Trapp Family Singers by Maria Augusta Trapp. The beloved musical story of Maria and the von Trapp Family will once again thrill audiences with its Tony®, Grammy® and Academy Award®–winning Best Score, including “My Favorite Things,” “Edelweiss” and the title song.

THE SOUND OF MUSIC enjoyed extraordinary success as a live television production when “The Sound of Music Live!” aired on NBC in December, 2013 and was seen by over 44 million people. 2015 marked the 50th anniversary of the film version, which continues to be the most successful movie musical in history.

In the words of Ted Chapin, President of Rodgers & Hammerstein, “I waited for a moment when we could rediscover THE SOUND OF MUSIC as it was originally created. Because of the enormous success of the film, few were aware that it started life as a hit Broadway show—and a very big hit at that! The artists behind this production embraced what the authors wrote, looked at it all through modern eyes and, in so doing, found depth and resonance that has been recognized by critics and audiences across the country. It’s like visiting an old friend but finding yourself surprised as well. It’s also a reminder of why this show is such an evergreen.”

The creative team for this new production includes direction by Matt Lenz, based on the national tour’s original direction by three-time Tony Award® winner Jack O’Brien (Hairspray, The Full Monty, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Coast of Utopia). Original choreography by Danny Mefford (Dear Evan Hansen, Fun Home, The Bridges of Madison County, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson) has been recreated by Jonathan Warren, with music supervision by Andy Einhorn (Hello, Dolly!Bullets Over Broadway, Rodgers + Hammerstein’s CinderellaThe Light in the Piazza). The design and production team is comprised of Tony Award® nominee Douglas W. Schmidt, set design (The Front Page, 42nd Street, Into the Woods); Tony Award® winner Jane Greenwood, costume design (The Little Foxes, 2014 Special Tony Award® for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre), six-time Tony Award® winner Natasha Katz, lighting design (Long Day’s Journey Into NightAn American in ParisOnceAidaThe Coast of Utopia, The Glass Menagerie). Original sound design by Ken Travis (Aladdin, Newsies, Memphis) has been adapted by Shannon Slaton, and casting is by Stewart/Whitley.

THE SOUND OF MUSIC is part of the Broadway Across Canada 17/18 Broadway Season and will run in Edmonton September 19 – 24 at the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium and Calgary September 26 – October 1 at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium.
