As some of you may know, I have been taking classes at the Bar Method for a year now and I ABS-solutely love it!
A little bit about The Bar Method:
The Bar Method is a one-hour, non-impact total body workout set to fun music. It starts with a warm-up, free weight exercises and push-ups and then moves to intense isometric leg work at the bar, followed by abdominal work at the bar and on mats. The workout was developed under the guidance of physical therapists to create a workout that reshapes your entire body. It’s intense and challenging but the ultimate result is core strength, lifted mood, increased metabolism, carved muscles, and flexibility!
Why I LOVE it
If you knew me a year ago, you’d see me as a person who had not worked out in forever – I used to do yoga frequently as my “workout” of choice (aka, stress reducing and stretching) but then I experienced a lower back injury, a lovely herniated disc which put me out of commission for EVERYTHING except for physio and massage for 6 plus months. Even after I was recovering from my back injury, I couldn’t do yoga. In fact, I re-injured myself from yoga. I kept hearing over and over “you need to build up your core, work your core”.

I absolutely love the corrections they give – I want to make sure I’m doing the exercise right first so I don’t injure myself. They also push me to exceed my expectations in just right way!
