Align Entertainment presents The Little Mermaid, February 3 to 18, 2017

Align Entertainment will be going all out with lavish sets, costumes and full orchestra for the BC Premiere of the large scale musical, The Little Mermaid, based on the animated Disneyfilm, and the fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen.

The story about a mermaid who dreams of the world above the sea and risks everything to find love was written by the Academy, Grammy, and Tony Award winning duo of Alan Menken(music) and Howard Ashman (lyrics).  The stage production features all your favourite songs including: Part of Your World, Under the Sea, Poor Unfortunate Souls, and Kiss the Girl.

The Little Mermaid stars Elyse Maloway as Ariel, Damon Calderwood as King Triton, Colton Fyfe (Prince Eric), Erin Matchette (Ursula), Julio Fuentes (Sebastian) and Chris Adams(Scuttle).

Mermaid princess Ariel is fascinated by and longs to join the lives of people on dry land, though her father, King Triton forbids it. When she falls in love with Prince Eric, a human from afar, she makes a deal with Ursula, her father’s sister and enemy.  Ariel is temporarily transformed into a human and may stay that way if she wins the kiss of true love from her prince within three days. The dangerous mission leads to a showdown between good and evil which only love can conquer.

The show is directed by Chad Matchette, musical director Brent Hughes, choreography by Melissa Turpin, conductorBrent Hughes, and produced by Patti Volk. The Little Mermaid follows Align Entertainment’s smash hit productions of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Rodgers + Hammerstein’s CINDERELLA has music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, a new book by Douglas Carter Beane and original book by Oscar Hammerstein II. Originally directed by Mark Brokaw and choreographed by Josh Rhodes, the tour is directed by Gina Rattan and choreographed by Lee Wilkins. Music adaptation and arrangements are by David Chase and music supervision is by Greg Anthony Rassen. Orchestrations are by Bill Elliott and are adapted from the original Broadway orchestrations by Danny Troob.

 CINDERELLA is presented by Broadway Across Canada as part of their 16/17 Broadway Season and will run in Edmonton April 18-23 at the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium and in Calgary, April 25-30 at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium.

ANNOUNCES STUDENT RUSH TICKET POLICY

PERFORMANCES BEGIN AUGUST 23rd AT THE

QUEEN ELIZABETH THEATRE

 Vancouver, BC THE BOOK OF MORMON, winner of nine Tony Awards® including Best Musical, is pleased to announce a student rush ticket policy for the show’s Vancouver engagement, which begins Tuesday August 23, 2016 at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre and plays a limited two-week engagement through Sunday September 4, 2016. In Vancouver, the production will conduct a pre-show student rush, making twenty (20) tickets available per show at $25 per ticket. Student Rush Tickets will be available first come first served to those who show valid student ID at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre box office 2 hours prior to each performance.  A limit of two tickets per person will be enforced.
